Reflective Parenting
Short-term work for parents and carers, looking at your own responses and where they come from.
Working with children and adolescents means working with the systems around them, and a parent is the most important part of that system.
Reflective parenting sessions are a space for parents and carers to explore their own responses to their child, and where those responses come from. It is not advice, and it is not a parenting course.
The aim is to understand yourself in relation to your child. In my experience that understanding tends to do more for a family than any technique does.
What It Involves
This is short-term work, usually six to ten sessions with a parent or carer. It can run alongside a child’s own therapy, or stand on its own.
The first step is a free phone call, with no obligation to go further.
